Well wishes to Richard Sax in his new role as Dean of Arts & Sciences at The University of Texas Permian Basin.

“This Interim Dean position has been fascinating thus far. Provost Rajalingam Dakshinamurthy is a real gem to work for, and the deliverables are all well within my wheelhouse and experiences; turbocharging the Arts & Humanities, separating out a new College of Arts & Humanities, jettisoning the Natural Sciences either to Engineering or Health & Human Performance where they can make 21st-century connections with those academic areas for the benefit of our students, continuing existing recruitment and retention efforts, creating new expectations for department chairs to assume more leadership and scheduling responsibilities, improving fill rates, tweaking the four-year cycle of courses for appropriate offerings and in the right delivery modalities. There is a new chapter of history being created here at UTPB, and I am pleased to be able to contribute to it.”
