The Registry is thrilled to share the following proclamation bestowed on our Interim Dr. Risa Dickson by the Board of Trustees of Palo Alto University.
Whereas:
• Dr. Risa Dickson joined Palo Alto University as Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs in August 2018 after an impressive career in the CSUSB and University of Hawai‘i News systems;
• Dr. Dickson has made substantial and significant contributions to the academic mission of our university by, among other major accomplishments:
・spearheading the establishment of our Psychology and Counseling academic departments and guiding the initial Chairs of those Departments;
・establishing a re-imagined Admissions team that has increased university enrollment over the past two enrollment cycles, closed both Doctoral programs admissions in April for the first time in many years, and brought professional staff and practices to this important office;
・developing and clarifying faculty workloads, faculty tenure and promotion processes, and, faculty governance;
・creating a strong partnership with our Student Affairs Division to best support our students; and,
・leading essential structural, policy, process, and budgetary changes in the Academic Affairs Division that aligned with the strategic vision, goals, and objectives of the university;
• Dr. Dickson has shared her incredible experience, expertise, and insights about higher education with our community and thereby paved the way for PAU’s new Chief Academic Officer/Provost; and,
• Dr. Dickson has worked closely with Trustees to re-imagine the Board’s Academic and Student Affairs Committee, establish its new Charter and set it up for effective and informed governance.
Therefore, Be It Resolved That:
The PAU Board of Trustees expresses its most profound appreciation for the outstanding contributions and leadership of Dr. Risa Dickson during her three years of service to Palo Alto University; and extends its best wishes for continued success in all the years to come.
