Dr. Charles L. Welch, President, the Arkansas State University System spoke about working with The Registry on a recent interim search. “We considered a traditional, ‘permanent’ search for the position of Chancellor at Henderson State, but we did not believe that we could now engage campus constituencies sufficiently for a full search during the pandemic, nor could we be assured of a group of final candidates with the requisite skills and experience through a standard search process.
We were seeking a highly experienced administrator who was a sitting president, if possible, with demonstrated crisis management expertise. These are not always the items emphasized in a traditional search process.
Thus, for our needs, The Registry model worked beautifully. Our agreement with them produced a number of highly-qualified individuals who met the expectations above precisely, and we believe we chose a finalist who was an almost-perfect match for Henderson State at this point. Simply said, The Registry made sense to us as the placement firm of choice, and we are now beginning a new search with them for a provost within our System as a proof of that.”
